“We will also work with our partners to uphold the democratic process as it offers the best hope to address Venezuela’s ongoing political, economic, and humanitarian crisis,” said State Spokesperson Miller.
“The more that we can help people break the cycle of use and dependence, the smaller the illicit market for drugs. The more we can reduce the illicit supply of harmful drugs, the fewer people will be exposed to them,” said Secretary Blinken.
“Basic freedoms have eroded. Electoral rights have come under assault. Corruption has eaten away at hope. Under the Summit banner, over the past three years, we have risen together to meet this challenge," said Secretary Blinken.
“The Cuban government will not be able to meet the needs of its people until it embraces democracy and the rule of law and respects the rights of Cuban citizens,” said Assistant Secretary Nichols.
“If we can harness all of the extraordinary potential,” said Secretary Blinken, “all the extraordinary good in AI, while mitigating the downsides, we will advance progress for people in all of our countries and around the world.”
In 2023, USAID launched the Global Accelerator to End TB Plus initiative. One of the program’s ambitious goals is to reach and deliver prevention and care services to 90 percent of people with TB.
“Every person should have a right and the ability to have access to clean water,” said U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris.
“For all we know about the impact conflict has on women and girls, there is so much that never cracks the surface,” said Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield.
"The more countries who join us in applying pressure, the more we raise the cost on perpetrators, and the more we force them to think twice before detaining additional innocent people," said Secretary Blinken.
Secretary Blinken said that "only the Haitian people should determine their own future - not anyone else. But all of us ... CARICOM, the United States, our other partners – we can help."
“As food prices hit record highs following Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, we rushed to get high quality seeds, fertilizer and financing to the markets and into the hands of some of the world's poorest farmer farmers,” said USAID Assistant to the Administrator Esposito.
