He lost his right hand in a similar gun battle in the 1970s and is believed to be hiding in Southern Mindanao where he continues to plot terror schemes. He played a role in the May 2001 kidnapping of 20 people from a tourist resort in Palawan, Philippines that resulted in the murder of several hostages, including one American.
The Rewards for Justice program is offering a reward of up to one million dollars for information leading to Sahiron's arrest or prosecution.
The U.S. guarantees that all reports will be investigated and the identity of all informants will be kept confidential. If appropriate, the U.S. is prepared to protect informants by relocating them.
