For 47 years, the barbaric Iranian regime has murdered thousands of Americans through their terrorist proxies and cowardly attacks. “Now they race toward a nuclear bomb to hold the world hostage,” said Secretary of War Pete Hegseth in a recent briefing.
But President Donald Trump will never allow that race to a nuclear bomb to succeed, vowed Secretary Hegseth. “The mullahs are desperate and scrambling. Like the terrorist cowards they are, they fire missiles from schools and hospitals, deliberately targeting innocents because they know their military is being systematically degraded and annihilated,” said Secretary Hegseth.
Iran's neighbors, and in some cases former allies in the Gulf, have abandoned them. And their proxies - Hezbollah, the Houthis and Hamas - are either broken, ineffective or on the sidelines. Iran stands alone and is losing badly, said Secretary Hegseth.
Operation Epic Fury continues to be a massive success as it completes its objectives in record time.
The first goal remains to destroy Iran’s missile stockpiles, their missile launchers and their ability to make them.
The second objective is to obliterate the Iranian Navy and their capabilities in order to keep the Straits of Hormuz open to shipping.
And the third goal is to permanently deny Iran nuclear weapons.
The United States will not relent until the enemy is totally and decisively defeated, “but we do so on our timeline and at our choosing,” stressed Secretary Hegseth.
The intensity of the strikes inside Iran has escalated. As a result, Iran is capable of firing fewer and fewer missiles.
To date, Operation Epic Fury has struck more than 5,000 targets. “U.S. Strategic Command bombers recently dropped dozens of 2,000-pound GPS penetrating weapons on deeply buried missile launchers across the southern flank,” said Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine. “We also have struck several one-way drone factories to get at the heart of their autonomous capability.”
U.S. strikes, along with those of regional partners, “mean we've made significant progress in reducing the number of missile and drone attacks out of Iran,” said General Caine.
Ballistic missile attacks continue to trend downward 90 percent from where they started, and one way attack drones have decreased by over 80 percent since the beginning of the operation, noted General Caine.
There has also been substantial progress towards destroying Iran’s navy. More than 50 Iranian naval ships have been taken out using a combination of artillery, fighters, bombers and sea launched missiles.
The United States military, said Secretary Hegseth, is “winning decisively with brutal efficiency, total air dominance and an unbreakable will to accomplish the president's objectives on our timeline.”
