12/14/02 - INTERNATIONAL CRIME ALERT: AL-YACOUB - 2002-12-17


The United States has established a list of “Most Wanted Terrorists.” Several of the fugitives on this list, including Osama bin Laden, are part of al-Qaida, the terrorist group responsible for the September 11th, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Others are wanted in connection with previous terrorist attacks.

Ibrahim Salih Mohammed Al-Yacoub [EEB-ra-heem SAW-lee mo-HAHM-med ahl-YAH-koob] is wanted for the 1996 bombing of the Khobar Towers military housing complex in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Nineteen American servicemen were killed and three-hundred people were wounded in the attack.

Al-Yacoub was born on October 16th, 1966, in Tarut, Saudi Arabia. He remains a Saudi Arabian citizen. He is one meter sixty-two centimeters tall, and weighs sixty-eight kilograms. He has black hair, brown eyes, and an olive complexion.

The United States is offering a reward of up to twenty-five-million dollars for information leading to the arrest of Ibrahim Salih Mohammed Al-Yacoub. If you have information concerning this fugitive, you should contact the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. The identities of all informants will be kept confidential.
