The United States and the G7 "strongly condemn the Rwanda-backed M23 offensive in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, and in particular, the capture of Minova, Saké and Goma."
“The horrific acts of violence committed by the SAF and the RSF must end,” said Ambassador Shea. “It is long past time to halt the killing, and to empower the Sudanese people in their pursuit of a peaceful and prosperous future.”
“We serve together at a dangerous time,” said Defense Secretary Hegseth. “Together we will accomplish the President’s mission to deter war, and if necessary, defeat and destroy our enemies.”
“We call for an immediate ceasefire and end to this fighting. Rwanda must withdraw troops from the DRC. Rwanda and the DRC must return to the negotiating table and work toward a sustainable, peaceful solution,” said Ambassador Shea.
"Every dollar we spend, every program we fund, and every policy we pursue must be justified with the answer to three simple questions," said Secretary Rubio. "Does it make America safer? Does it make America stronger? Does it make America more prosperous?"
"Investing in women’s health and well-being saves lives, allows women and girls more opportunities, and protects the family as the fundamental unit of society," said Secretary Rubio.

“For in the end,” said Mr. Rubio, “how can America promote the cause of peace on Earth if it is not first safe at home? What good is America to our allies if it is not strong?"
“We see around the world that there is a risk of backlash as we make gains on [women’s] rights and opportunities,” said USAID Senior Coordinator Jamille Bigio.
