“The Houthis are the primary impediment to greater international support and are jeopardizing the possibility of peace in Yemen,” said Ambassador Shea.
The U.S. calls “on governments to strengthen export controls to curb the proliferation of these technologies without guardrails and to provide remedy and justice for victims of commercial spyware," said Ambassador Shea.
"We’ve reached this point because of the pressure that Israel built on Hamas backed by the United States. Hamas's longtime leader, Sinwar, was killed," said President Biden.
“Our alliances are stronger. Our adversaries and competitors are weaker. We have not gone to war to make these things happen," said President Biden.
"So, the imperative is not to turn back the clock to the way things were before October 7th. It is to forge a new reality for the Middle East in which all people are more secure," said Secretary Blinken.
“Syria should not be used as a platform to extend other countries’ interests at the expense of the Syrian people,” said Ambassador Shea.
This action will “ensure that sanctions do not impede essential services and continuity of governance functions across Syria, including the provision of electricity, energy, water, and sanitation,” said Treasury Deputy Secretary Adeyemo.
"Only a sustained flow of assistance, food, clean water, medical supplies into Gaza will bring relief and address catastrophic levels of food insecurity," said Ambassador Shea.
“We can all see clearly that the Houthis are fully enabled by Iran to launch long-range and deadly attacks on Israel, including civilian infrastructure,” said Ambassador Shea.
"[W]e’ve delivered important progress and innovations that will leave a lasting legacy on human rights around the globe, including leveraging global institutions to address U.S. human rights priorities," said Under Secretary Zeya.
President Carter "worked to eradicate disease, forge peace, advance civil rights and human rights, promote free and fair elections, house the homeless, and always advocate for the least among us," said President Biden.
“The Iranian Government has repeatedly suppressed press freedom through threats, intimidation, detentions, forced confessions and the use of violence against journalists in Iran,” said Spokesperson Miller.
