“This is a historic opportunity for the long-suffering people of Syria to build a better life,” said Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield. “After more than a decade of conflict and corruption, their needs are extensive.”
“We are now faced with a dramatically reshaped Middle East in which Israel is stronger, Iran is weaker, its proxies decimated, and a ceasefire that is new and will be lasting in Lebanon that ensures Israel’s security over the long term.”
"It’s in the interest of the United States, it’s in the interest of Türkiye, it’s in the interests of the Syrian people, and all the countries in the region that ISIS not rear its head again," said State Spokesperson Miller.
“This new restriction defies logic and could represent a death sentence for Afghan women and girls in dire need of potentially lifesaving medical treatment,” said Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield.
“Rather than continue their assault on the Red Sea and surrounding waterways,” said Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield, “the Houthis must de-escalate and return to a political process."
